3rd Annual SouthShore Art Frolic

Be part of it!

Meet some of SouthShore's most renowned artists at this free event. The SouthShore Arts Council is sponsoring this year's art event at seven area locations in Apollo Beach and Ruskin. At each stop see the artist and enjoy their latest works before you move on to the next location.

 

The day is topped of by a free "Pops in the Park" concert performed by the Florida Orchestra at Ruskin's E.G. Simmons Park . Bring the whole family. The concert is sponsored by the Community Foundation of Greater Sun City Center.

The SouthShore Arts Council is a non-profit organization. "The SouthShore Arts Council has been formed to promote and nurture the practice of the arts in southern Hillsborough County . The council will support and encourage and promote, to the greatest degree possible, activities in the visual arts, music, theater, dance and literature in this region. Educational activities in the arts will be supported and encouraged, and the council will strive to expand learning opportunities in the arts for people of all ages."

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Council was established in 2005, and has supported a variety of programs and events. The major events have been the annual Art Frolic,  the Annual Plein Aire Art Festival and the Ruskin Big Draw. The Council collaborates with several other programs and organizations, including the Ruskin Community Development Foundation, Camp Bayou, The Ruskin Historical Center, The John Crawford Studio at the SouthShore Regional Library, and The Ruskin Chamber of Commerce.
