ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES: At the July 30 Quarterly Membership meeting, it was announced that our parent organization, Friends of the Library of Tampa-Hillsborough County (FOL/THC), is being reorganized. This move will provide more professional services and will include local Friends groups that are not now affiliated. Our Friends of the SouthShore Regional Library (FOSSRL) is a chapter of FOL/THC. President Frances Hereford made it clear that FOSSRL would continue to operate solely for the benefit of the SouthShore Regional Library and our activities would be confined to providing programs, services, and equipment for the SouthShore Regional Library. At this meeting, Jim Duffy was elected to be the FOSSRL representative on the FOL/THP Board.

DISPLAY CABINET PURCHASED: As part of the Friends SouthShore History Project, the Friends of the SouthShore Regional Library have purchased a special cabinet for the display of ancient artifacts collected by local Paleontologist, Frank Garcia. It is anticipated that this display will be of great interest to adults and children alike.
