The Big Draw- Ruskin

I would rather teach drawing that my pupils may learn to love nature, than teach them looking at nature that they may learn to draw."- John Ruskin

In Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of Ruskin

Invite your participation in

THE BIG DRAW-Ruskin

A Season of sponsored Drawing & Arts Events

--------------------------------

THE BIG DRAW – Ruskin

Invites everyone of all ages and experience to join in sponsored events using drawing to engage our minds and imaginations. Discover drawing as a great, learnable medium for observation, expression, learning, exploration and fun!

This event series is inspired by The Campaign for Drawing, a nationwide initiative in the United Kingdom established in honor of John Ruskin. August 2008 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of Ruskin FL as a community whose founders were influenced by the writings and philosophy of John Ruskin. (thecampaignfordrawing.org)

THE BIG DRAW invites the community to experience drawing as an enjoyable public activity as well as a private passion. It is inspired by the vision of artist, writer and thinker John Ruskin who believed that drawing is a tool for understanding and knowledge and by his belief in the importance of the arts in education and community life.

THE BIG DRAW Season runs from September 15th – October 11th and ends with THE RUSKIN BIG DRAW-IN, a community event October 11 organized by Southshore Arts Council and participating partners and sponsors. Events are scheduled throughout the month sponsored by community organizations, libraries, schools, clubs and businesses at a variety of venues.
