Schedule of Activities:
9 am: Birding Walk – We are site #111 in the West section of the Great Florida Birding Trail.
9:30 am: * Wildlife in my Yard– an introduction to a new Citizen Science program.
10 am: Native Plants – Learn about native plants for the home landscape.
10:30 am: * Native American Camp— learn how early inhabitants used natural resources.
11 am: * Butterfly walk- ID exhibit and workshop in "Butterfly Habitat" gazebo.
11:30am: Camp Bayou Nature Writers Group- Introduced by D. Alvarez PhD, Beautyberry Books
Noon: Holiday BBQ- Annual fundraiser, Vegetarian items available. $10/person
12:30 pm: Highlight Cart Tours– 20 min tours on 7 passenger cart continuous from 12:30—1:30pm.
1 pm: * Aquatic Explorations – Join our naturalist to net critters in the river.
** Family- friendly, hands on activities
On-going throughout the day:
- Fossil Museum open
- Fossil pit dig (for small fee)
- Nature Center open
- 3 trails through varied habitats
- Guided walks every hour
- Canoe launch open
- Friends of Ucita
- Native plants for sale
- Butterfly Habitat with Eagle Audubon Society
