The Academy's mission is to introduce citizens to the wealth of scientific research being conducted on (and in) Tampa Bay, and to expand their knowledge of how estuaries work-- all while having loads of fun! Following a morning keynote address, participants can choose from interactive indoor and outdoor learning workshops.
Morning workshops will be:
Plankton: The Hidden World of the Estuary.
Edible Insects.
Estuary Explorations: Catching "Critters" in the Bay
Afternoon workshops will be:
Gifts from Nature: Make Cool Gifts from Nature.
A Higher-Level Look at the Lower-Level embers of the Food Chain.
Mangrove Ecology Hike
