Description:
Journaling is a way of knowing for all ages. It is a practice that teaches us to see, not just look. It is a process of word and image that allows us to record - and thus, remember - moments, events and experiences that serve as a path to understanding our world and environment in multiple ways. Scientists, naturalists, gardeners, artists and designers have long used journals to document their observations, verify their insights and translate their new understandings. In this workshop we will spend some time discussing journals and then visit 5 sites at Camp Bayou where we can practice different journaling techniques and processes. Discover approaches that work for you, whatever your age and experience. We will be indoors and outdoors, and doing short walks on some of the Nature Trails. Dress for the weather, some walking, and bring sunscreen, insect repellant and water. Optional: A camera, binoculars, and magnifying lens.

Please arrive on time since the gates will close at 2pm and no other participants will be admitted.

This event is part of 'The Big Draw'. For more information and other 'Big Draw' events, visit http://southshoreartscouncil.org/schedule.html .
