South Shore Gallery hosting reception for
Fred Rothenbush's "That's What Heroes Do"

South Shore Gallery will be hosting a reception on May 15, 2008 for renowned artist Fred Rothenbush's painting, "That's What Heroes Do."  The painting was commissioned by the 82nd Aviation Combat Brigade headquartered in Fort Bragg, N.C.  It was created from photographs emailed to Rothenbush from soldiers abroad.  It depicts an air assault on a known Taliban stronghold within the Upper Sangin River Valley in the northern Helman Province of Afghanistan.

Prints are available for purchase for $50.  All proceeds will be donated to the Military Officers' Benevolent Corporation.  The MOBC is a charitable organization fostering support of officers, NCO's and federal employees.  Working together, they provide military families with college scholarship and help with unexpected financial needs, assist homeless women veterans and support various JROTC programs.

Fred Rothenbush is a fifth generation artist from Ruskin.  His skills range from wildlife, hunting dogs, birds, portraits and a specialty called "Kids, Doing Their Thing."  He also does rare work called "Cop and Military Art," painting law enforcement and U.S. military personnel. Highway patrols, sheriffs, police and U.S. military are among some of the agencies dear to him.  Fred now exhibits one man shows and uses his works to raise funds for various law enforcement and U.S. military benefit funds, Ducks Unlimited and child benefit programs, among others.

South Shore Gallery would like to invite the community to the reception to honor our soldiers and veterans, their families and the sacrifices they all make for our country.  The reception will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2008 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.  South Shore Gallery is located at 447 Apollo Beach Boulevard in Apollo Beach.  Hamburgers and hot dogs will be available.  The JROTC from East Bay High School will be presenting colors at 6:15 p.m.  For more information, contact South Shore Gallery at (813) 645-0483 or visit www.southshoregallery.com.
